Most Frequently Asked Question

Where is Medina located?

Medina is in the western region of Saudi Arabia, approximately 450 kilometers north of Mecca. It’s one of the most important cities in Islam and a key destination for pilgrims and travelers alike.

Medina is the second-holiest city in Islam after Mecca. It’s home to Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque), where Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is buried. The city played a central role in early Islamic history and remains a place of deep spiritual importance.

Non-Muslims may visit areas outside the sacred central zone of Medina. However, access to the Prophet’s Mosque and surrounding religious sites is reserved for Muslims only.

Medina can be visited year-round, but the cooler months from October to March are most comfortable. Pilgrims often visit during Hajj and Umrah seasons, while cultural travelers may prefer quieter periods.
